Al-Anon - Alateen
Al-Anon and Alateen is a worldwide organization that offers a self help recovery program for families and friends of alcoholics whether or not the alcoholic seeks help or even recognizes the extent of a drinking problem. The site includes 20 questions to help decide whether one needs Al-Anon or Alateen, the Twelve Steps and Traditions of Al-Anon and Alateen, a calendar of upcoming events, a directory of Al-Anon groups within and outside of the United States, a directory of online Al-Anon groups, and a catalog of Al-Anon and Alateen literature.

CAAS: Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies
CAAS' mission is to promote the identification, prevention, and treatment of alcohol and other drug problems through research, publications, education, and training. A link is provided to the Association for Medical Education and Research in Substance Abuse (AMERSA). A list of medical resources on the Internet is compiled including a link to CORK, the bibliographic database on alcohol produced by Dartmouth University Medical School.

CCSA - CCLAT: Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is a public hospital providing direct patient care for people with mental health and addiction problems. The DISCUS world wide web site is a source of information on distilled spirits and the distilled spirits industry. DISCUS is the trade association representing producers and marketers of distilled spirits in the United States. A directory of U. S. NCADD: National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc.
NCADD provides education, information, help, and hope in the fight against the chronic, often fatal disease of alcoholism and other drug addiction. Founded in 1944, NCADD is a voluntary health organization with a national network of affiliates. NCADD advocates prevention, intervention, research, and treatment. NHIC: National Health Information Center
NHIC is an information referral service that puts health professionals and consumers in touch with those organizations that are best able to provide answers. NHIC was established in 1979 by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Office of Public Health and Science, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Health Information Resources Database includes 1100 organizations and government offices that provide health information upon request. Entries include contact information, short abstracts, and information on publications and services. Information on substance abuse is provided under multiple headings including substance abuse, tobacco, alcohol and other drugs, alcohol abuse, alcohol education, alcoholism, drug abuse, drunk driving, prevention and others.
